We planted seeds in the Arizona high desert. We watered them through the heat. We tended them with our hands. And now — fresh mint is being harvested, the hot banana peppers are ready, and basil is being pruned. We even have a little pepper bandit who got there first. That's farm life, and we wouldn't trade it.
Every harvest teaches us something. Every plant that makes it through teaches the kids resilience. Every meal grown here instead of bought elsewhere is a win for food security in Apache County.
