๐ธ About Javon's Legacy Farm ยท Javon's Legacy Farm ยท Apache County, AZ
More than a farm. A living tribute.
Javon's Legacy Farm was founded to honor our oldest son Javon โ born, raised, and lost in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, a city where too many families are impacted by violence. We left Milwaukee to build something different in Arizona's high desert โ growing fresh food, raising young people, and proving that love in action can change a community, one seed and one lesson at a time.
Growing 35+ varieties of fresh produce in a community with limited access to healthy food. Every harvest matters.
Teaching young people real skills โ gardening, poultry care, entrepreneurship, and stewardship โ that open doors and change trajectories.
Building sustainable infrastructure โ water, solar, greenhouses โ that makes this farm a long-term resource for Apache County.
From 80 empty acres
to a living legacy.
We purchased this land from Edwin's brother and his wife โ keeping it in the family, rooted in the same soil and the same values. When we arrived, they blessed us with a great start: solar panels, water systems, a tiny home, and an RV. That foundation meant everything to us.
But we want to be honest about where we are. There's no running water yet. No flushing toilets. The solar doesn't carry us through the night. We haul water by ATV from a shared well. We stretch every resource, conserve every watt, and keep showing up anyway โ because that's what this mission requires.
We built raised beds in rocky, dry soil and started 35+ varieties of crops in our first season. We brought home seven chicks โ lost two along the way โ and watched the remaining five grow into the heart of our egg program. Every seed planted, every chick raised, every kid who learns a new skill carries the purpose of Javon forward.

Five people. One mission. All in.
From Milwaukee, Wisconsin to the Arizona high desert โ this farm isn't run by a corporation or a committee. It's built by a family โ every single day.
Vision, strategy, marketing, education, and finances. Jaclynne is the heart behind the mission โ turning grief into purpose and building something that honors Javon every single day.
Property, infrastructure, equipment, and daily operations. Edwin keeps the farm running โ from water systems to fencing to everything in between.
Hands-on farm work, maintenance, and growing into a leader. Ja'Kari is the next generation of this legacy in action.

Poultry care, gardening, harvesting, and caring for the farm dogs. Ja'Lani is learning what it means to be a steward of the land and its animals โ with real responsibility and real results.
Poultry, garden support, maintenance, harvesting, and caring for the farm cats. Ja'Nai is growing up knowing where food comes from โ and why every animal on the farm matters.
Every animal on this farm matters.
From our 13-year-old senior dog to our German Shepherd puppies to our two cat sisters to our founding flock of five โ every creature here is family, cared for daily with love and intention.

Sassy out here sipping from Gigi's bowl like she pays the water bill. ๐ Gigi is unbothered. She's 13. She's seen it all. ๐พ
Gigi, our 13-year-old senior girl who has been with us through everything โ a living reminder that loyalty and love don't age. And three German Shepherd puppies: Princess, Ivy, and Diamond, sisters born from the same litter, bringing energy and joy to every corner of the farm.
Sassy and Hazel โ sisters born from the same litter. They've claimed the farm as their territory and have a very clear understanding with the dogs about who's really in charge.
Our founding flock โ Ginger, Lili, Lucy, Pearl, and Lady. Heritage breed pullets growing strong, with first eggs expected Fall 2026. Every chick matters.
The animals on this farm aren't just pets โ they're part of the mission. The chickens teach the kids responsibility. The dogs and cats remind us that every life deserves care and dignity.

We don't just talk about legacy, stewardship, and family โ we live it every day on this farm. These values guide every decision we make.
